Just Between Friends is a forum for open discussion between women.
Our purpose is to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus as we learn what the Bible teaches about different subjects.
As women we lead active lives! I have tried to design these Bible Study Discussions to offer you a meaty study, yet keep it simple, manageable, and flexible, in the hopes it will fit into most schedules (those schedules with very little room and those schedules not so packed). These studies are also being designed so you may keep your study light, yet allows for digging deeper for those who so desire.
"God's Basket of Fruit"
A study on the fruit of the Spirit - Begins - Sunday, June 29, 2008
What is the Fruit?
How do we acquire the Fruit?
Can just anyone pick from the Tree?
Is the Fruit ready to use, or do we need to mature the Fruit?
Do I get all the Fruit?
Do I only need some of the Fruit?
What do I do with the Fruit?
Will it spoil?
Join us as we discover the answers to these questions and more as we discover and taste from God's Basket of Fruit.
At the beginning of each week a new lesson plan for the week will be posted. You may do the assignments at your leisure throughout the week.
You may post questions, comments, discoveries, and share what God is doing in your life as a result of your study.
You may sign up by sending me an email with your request to join.
Looking forward to studying with you.
Be Encouraged, Sandra
I'm Janie. My husband and I have 4 grown kids between us. We were empty-nesters for a couple of years and now my 95-year-old grandma lives with us. I care for her and am self-employed from my home. We're members of CrossPoint in Glendale, AZ.
ReplyDeleteI was excited about this study group opportunity because we live in Buckeye (aka East LA), about 40 minutes from the church. That, combined with the fact that my husband works out-of-state and I care for my grandma, would make it hard to commit to a small group.
Hi Janie
ReplyDeleteWelcome.... looking forward to our doing study together!
Hi-Pat here. This is me in a nutshell. This August I will be entering into my 55th year of life. I experienced most of my life in the Las Vegas, NV area, but now make my home in Litchfield Park, AZ. I have made my abode there for the last 2 and one half years with my terrific husband and best friend, Roger. We also share our home with 2 dogs (Abbey-14 and Katie-9) who think they are human or think we are dogs. Our two daughters (Becky and Amber) are raising their own lovely families in Texas and Nevada. That means we are also grandparents which is the best thing about being parents. For many years I taught children (2nd graders) in Nevada, but now I am blessed to volunteer as a peer counselor at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. I also get to help out in a variety of ways for the church I worship with, CrossPoint Christian in Glendale, AZ.
ReplyDeleteThis study is enticing because of the format. It just seems like it will be fun, interesting, new, crazy, and more. I want to be a part of it for all those reasons and because I love God's word. This will give me another way to discipline my haphazardness.
I am a member of Calvary community church. My daughter told me about the study group. I am retired, manage a home for recovering women. It is a faith based program to bring hope, God's love and strength for those struggling to re-enter the real world. I love mentoring and teaching. I have 2 grown kids with grandchildren. I am retired, sort of. I love the Lord and want to continue to mature as a christian.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Sharon and Pat... looking forward to our study time together.

Thank you too for the encourageing words.
Hi! My name is Chrisie. I have two beautiful daughters (15 and 11) and a fabulous husband of almost 19 years...WOW! We are fairly new to AZ and live in Litchfield Park. Our family served as missionaries in Chile, South America for almost three years and we LOVED it. Before Chile we lived in CA. I currently work at Starbucks and LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I joined this group is for the study. Being in a new place and building new relationships takes some adjustment and time. I miss being connected in a small group and am looking forward to learning together and making new friends. We attend Trinity Mennonite Church in Glendale, AZ
Hi - My name is Sandra and I am your online small group leader. I have been married to a wonderful guy for 37 years. We have had our times though, when he didn’t seem so wonderful, and neither did I. We have 2 grown married children our daughter and her family live in Texas, and our son and his wife live in California. We have 2 grandchildren one still living with mom and dad in Texas and the other going to college in Oregon. My husband was the catalyst that God used to bring me to Jesus. A commitment for which I will be forever grateful! I have been walking with the Lord for 36 years. Sometimes walking close and other times God’s outstretched hand was the only thinking keeping me from going beyond reach. I have served in Women’s ministry in every church I have been a part and have even taught a few women’s studies. While attending Adventure Christian church in Roseville California, I had the opportunity to write a very small series of Studies on the Women of the Bible. Now I begin a new journey and a new learning curve with an online small group. I am currently a member of CrossPoint Christian Church and I have the privilege of being a small part of Sun City West Christian Church, as I work there full time. God is about to do wonderful, amazing things. I am glad He has chosen me to come along on the ride with all of you! Be Encouraged….Sandra
ReplyDeleteI'm Rena. My husband Steve and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. We have 3 children ages 23, 18, and soon to be 17. We have 1 dog, Sulley (118 pound lab) and a cat named Sid. My husband is currently trying to figure out how we can sneak the cat into my daughters NAU dorm room in the fall. We have been members of Crosspoint Christian Church since May of 2000. My time management is not the best so I am very excited about this study group!
ReplyDeleteHello all! My name is Edith and I live in Surprise, AZ with my wonderful husband, our basset hound Rocket, our son Cory (at least until the end of August when he leaves to attend William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA), and a menagerie of other small critters.
ReplyDeleteI attend CrossPoint Christian Church and am currently the Director of the ladies ministry and am loving every minute of it.
I also worked for almost 7 years as the Sr. High Coordinator for youth ministries at CrossPoint before moving to ladies ministry.
I am fall-down-crazy-in-love with Jesus and can't get enough of His word. That is why I am so excited about this format.
Looking forward to "meeting" all of you!
Hi, this is Lori, from Roseville, CA. I attend Adventure Christian Church, where I also work as the Assistant to the Senior Pastor. I am 48 and single, and love to study God's Word. I am really excited about this new online study and look forward to
ReplyDeletestudying with all of you.
Hi, I'm Becca (I see there's another Rebecca in the group). I'm married, and live in Phoenix with my husband and 3 teenage sons. We attend Thomas Road Baptist Church here in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteI love the Lord, and I love to study His word. In my work life I am involved in how to effectively use technology in learning. What a blessing to be able to see this in action in a bible study format. I'm very excited about being involved in this group.
Hello everyone, my name is Kathie and for computer use I use the name Cat. I live in Citrus Heights, California. I have been marries for 46 years and have a son and a daughter as well as a 19 year old granddaugther. I have a n 18 year old cat and a 5 year old dog.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to this study as Sandra is the best. My church does not have a woman's Bible study as we have no teacher. Sandra move back so you can teach for us.
I am planning in coming to Arizona in October for Sandra's birthday and am looking forward to meeting some of you.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Cat
Welcome Chrisie, Rena, Edith, Lori, Becca and Cat. I am looking forward to studying with all of you! There are still some that have not blogged in and this is okay. I hope that all of you will give it a try at one time or another. Ladies 28 of you have signed on to give this kind of small group a try. I pray you will find value in the journey of discovering God's Basket of Fruit!
ReplyDeleteHappy Studying
Hi I'm Julie. I've been married for 31 years now and we have two grown kids and two astounding grandsons who all live in the Valley.
ReplyDeleteWe've attended CrossPoint for several years now and my main area of ministry is, Healing From the Inside Out. I've been wanting to be part of a bible study, but at the end of the workday, I'm toast so have become a confirmed homebody. This seems the ideal opportunity to combine the desire to learn with the need for home.
Hi my name is Shelly. I live in Mesa, AZ and attend Red Mountain Christian Church. I am married and have 2 daughters and 2 step sons. I work 30-40 hours per week. My husband is starting a new job tomorrow (Sunday, June 29th). He plays drums for the 8am service and his training starts at 3pm, so that is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first received the email invitation for this group I was thinking "with what time would I do this" but I know I need to priortize and make the time to get closer to the Lord, so here I am. I am going to try to keep up and on schedule and I am glad to be held accountable to my online study buddies. Thanks Sandra for putting this together!
Glad you are going to give it a try Shelly... I am looking forward to our study together
ReplyDeleteHi I am Marian, we live in SCW and go to Sun City West Christian church. This is the church where Sandra works. I volunteer in the church office with her a couple of days a week. I am looking forward to this study and growing stronger in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone,
ReplyDeleteI am a latecomer, but I am excited about studying with you all...I live in Granite Bay, CA. and attend Adventure Christian Church (when I am in town).I have been married for almost 5 years to a wonderful Christian man that I met at Adventure. We own property in Mount Shasta Forest and spend a lot of weekends there, so we miss church frequently in the summer months. That is part of what attracted me to this study. The other is fellowship with women and specially Sandra!
Between my husband,Clark, and I, we have 4 children, his 2 have spouses and we have 1 granddaughter (2yrs old).
I am still working fulltime as a sonographer. Clark is retired but still works part time at the job he retired from.
I am looking forward to getting into God's word on a regular basis!
Hi everyone, my name is Corina. I live in Peoria, AZ and go to CrossPoint Church. I'm a widow. I lost my husbad of 10 years to cancer two years ago. We had one little boy, Derek, who is 9 years old, and between him, work and life I'm usually pretty busy, so joining a small group just wasn't do-able for me. Needless to say I'm excited to be a part of this on line group!
